Forest of Dean – Flook
Name: Mr & Mrs Flook
Location: Forest of Dean
Completion Date: May 2019
About This Build
Mr and Mrs Flook wanted to create a new, traditionally designed home to replace their existing bungalow near the Forest of Dean. The replacement dwelling was a real opportunity for the clients to make the most of the area of outstanding natural beauty that surrounded their existing home.
The planning application process proved particularly difficult when there was a bat maternity roost within the walls of the existing property. We had to design and build a garage with a maternity roost for the bats built in where we then had to move the bats before we could demolish the existing building.
By using local style multi brick, clay plain tiles, render and oak, we accentuated the beauty of this homes end result. One of the houses key features is the stunning oak sunroom with a balcony above overlooking the houses’ expansive gardens to take full advantage of the areas scenic beauty. The house is semi open-plan with a magnificent fire place within the living room.
As shown within the photos below, this house has become a gorgeous home.
