About This Build

Set in Green Belt on edge of this beautiful village in North Somerset, it is hard to believe that you are only 3 miles from the centre of Bristol.

At our first meeting with these Potton clients, we listened attentively and understood their intentions from the start. The brief was to build an environmentally friendly home with open-plan living, huge vaulted spaces, and a connected garage to accommodate the family’s love of outdoor activities.

Energy efficiency was also an important factor for the clients with solar panels, an air source heat pump and a mechanical heat recovery system required to maximise the home’s energy efficiency.

Our collaboration with the family produced a design that would make every last bit of home space work to the family’s advantage. Planning was passed (after a few tweaks to the plans) and work began.

With its clean white walls, beautiful wooden cladding, deeply dark roof slates and a Dormer window/ balcony, this home creates an impressive work of art when looking at the home from the outside. We hope you agree that the home makes an impressive mark on this rural site.

The voters for the Potton’s best home of 2017 certainly thought so, with the house being declared the overall winner that year.
